Spring and summer are synonymous with fun and frivolity. Ease. Lightness. Play! The season of life I inject the most color and whimsy into my world. I have been building out a S/S style guide here — and wanted to spotlight some themes I noticed.
Colors and details that captivate and fabrics and patterns that evoke 70’s retro richness—the kind of pieces that can light up a room. Here’s what I’m loving, the razzle-dazzle to all your warm weather looks…
Stud and leather pouch. You know I love a stud detail so had to pre-order this little cutie. The perfect companion for girlfriend dinners, date nights, easy to pack for trips, and whenever you feel like carrying less. Studs have remained a detail that always resonates with me. When executed perfectly, it’s a fantastic balance of fun, quirk, and a slight edge.
Savette Mesh Clutch. When I am wholeheartedly obsessed with something, there’s a chance I end up buying a second color. I have this in both black and nude now and know I will wear them a million times, so cost-per-wear prevails. The color of the nude is insane. A subtle almost peachy buttery hue to it, makes it all the more unique and lovable. I’ve been praising Savette for years now, and have become such a loyal fan. I think I am all set for this particular style now having the Chartreuse, too. They are so beautiful, timeless, special, well-made, loved, and always bring such joy each time worn. The keys to a good investment.
Green jellies. Colored jellies are a little more of a statement—so I take a more considered approach to styling than a clear style. The green will make for such a fun exclamation point (ordered them!). I envision wearing with light levi’s and a relaxed tee or long sleeve tee, a similar toned light green knit, or a vintage-crew and shorts. It needs to be a more simple look that allows them do the talking. Love the details and color!
My very favorite flip flops, an under radar secret. I discovered Sleepers a few years back and they’ve become my unmatched favorite. I love Havaianas, but these reign supreme to me. I don’t know how they haven’t blown up in the US. I bought these a while back and am obsessed with them. Their flip flops are the comfiest, lightest, and most beautiful shape. Let me know what you think if you get them, I think you will be very pleased!
A need for bead. I saw Lucy Folk wear this beaded bag recently and had to snag one. She has very good taste, her styling it sold me. You can easily find similar on Etsy, but I just adored the floral pattern so much. I saved this one recently, so chic. I love a bedazzled moment.
Liffner’s new woven totes. So good. When I saw this come out, I knew I had to make note because their bags are gorgeous and at a lower price point than bags we see online of the same quality caliber. If you’ve been holding out for a less-unhinged price for a nice raffia bag, this is it.
Crochet flats. Really like the direction here—not feeling like they are the perfect candidate, but inspiration none the less! On a mission to hunt down something in the same family but a more wholehearted yes. Love a whimsy shoe! I saved these, too, also cute idea! These are piquing interest, too. Wanting to find something ethereal, breathable, comfy, but also flattering and chic. Stay tuned.
Knit shorts. I am such a sucker for the 70’s. So cool, effortless, whimsical, colorful, and relaxed. I ordered these shorts and I can’t wait to wear them with a big boyfriend tee and simple sandals or a oversize vintage-inspired crew sweatshirt. My go-to casual look for neighborhood strolls, coffee dates, errands, and on weekends.
Little black dress. How cute is this dress! I ordered it and look forward to wearing it this summer.
Green goddess dressing! SIR always does warm weather collections so well. In love with the details, color, and cut of this dress. It also comes in top form and in black, too. Such a perfect chic go-to, to wear up and down… and on repeat over the years.
Green leather pouch. I got so excited to stumble upon this green pouch as it reminded me a lot of one I have from The Row a few years back. The color and knot details really elevate. In case you need a leather pouch in your life, this one is a gem.
Laced with chic. Pinterest led me to buying this beauty last week. Same as the 70’s vibe shorts, I love pairing fun bottoms with easy / classic tees or sweatshirts. I just think it’s cool and fuss-free to team more tom-boy items with those more fem pieces.
Sooo looking forward to styling myself again like a normal human this summer (and sharing looks on!)—going to be exhilarating. In the meantime, thanks for reading and letting me indulge in ideation.
More to come this weekend!
