As time goes by, the more concrete I feel about shopping and collecting pieces I know I will love and wear tirelessly. Personal style is a ever-evolving and requires experimenting. I’ve really fine-tuned what makes me feel confident, comfortable, and the most like me—the most important things in my opinion.
My foundation will always be built around quality basics. Pieces that are versatile, comfortable, and fit me well. Basics feel like home, a comfort that brings me ease.
As for injecting fun and personality, I love to test trends that excite and inspire me, and have learned I live for a great shoe, bag, and jacket moment.
In celebration of the Shopbop spring sale today, I put together some inspiration below for warm-weather dressing, and handpicked pieces that paint a picture of what I usually go for this time of year. Breaking it all down…

Effortless = a blend of casual meets elevated

It’s a balancing act. I never like to look too polished — so I usually will integrate one item that brings a more elevated piece or look back to casual land.
Some examples, from left to right: 1. A black tee, trouser shorts, oversized blazer… and team with flip flops and a sleek bag 2. I love breezy sets — a poplin top and cotton shorts so chic and comfortable for a warm spring day. Faithfull always creates such good sets, too. 3. Adore this look… an oversized tee, silk skirt, flip flops and a woven tote. 4. A vintage/vintage-inspired tee and levis teamed with more feminine ballet flats, perfection in my book. 5. Also just a cozy chic combo—silk shorts and a nice knit. My kind of mom drop-off uniform!
Just make sure you find basic pieces that fit you really well, flatter, and that you feel great wearing. Try on a couple sizes in things to nail down the one that lays just perfectly. Go to the tailor and have your denim altered to fit you just right, etc. Fit is key.

When it comes to trends, my advice is to always test things you feel excited by and curious about. It’s okay if it ends up not perfectly suiting you after all, just a step towards knowing your taste and preferences a little bit better.
Many years back I fell in love with a pair of PVC/embellished heels that became a big part of my bride personality. I loved them so much I wore them far before and beyond the wedding. Happy hours, dinners, bridal events, and then changed into them after our reception to dance in. To this day, I love wearing them when the mood strikes and they come with me on most trips.
Leaning into this trend years back taught me that, while I usually love a more simple look, I really enjoy having fun with my accessories. With time, they have become part of my signature style, and in various forms. A trend that I adopted.
Transparent goes on and off the radar but it will always be for me. So dabble! You never know what will end up sticking and bring you so much joy until you try.
One thing on major trend at the moment—that is right up my street…

I have always loved a touch of romance come summertime. A nod to the 70’s. Embroidery, silk and lace, crochet, transparent and mesh are everywhere right now. I just love a touch of whimsy to accompany the basics I live in so I am eating the new arrivals up!
Some pieces from the sale that do it for me:
I bought this skirt for post baby. I plan to wear it with either slip champagne shorts or a mini skirt under with either a relaxed tee or vintage-style crew sweatshirt. Finished off with flip flops or simple strap sandals and a cute woven bag.
Love the idea of a crew sweatshirt, lace shorts, and converse.
A handful other gems from the sale that fit the bill: woven button up that would be so cute on vacation over a suit | woven ballet flats | transparent flip flops | silk lace shorts | crochet skirt | crochet cardigan
