Summer effortlessness, frivolty, and charm
A moodboard of sorts, all the stuff I'm loving lately.
It’s a welcomed gloomy Monday morning—cool and misty. Happy to have a little break between the suburbia heat waves. I’m such a San Franciscan! Wearing a sweater as we speak and thrilled about it. I hope you had a fun-filled and relaxing weekend!
Heading out for a run shortly—it has been ages since morning jogs were my workout of choice, but I have to say it has felt so good to get back into it. The first jot I felt rusty but it’s been so nice to notice my endurance building with each run. And the way it has impacted me is even more rewarding—more energy, motivation, and clear. I’ve been on such a Pilates kick and forgot how good it is to switch up your activities and move your mind and body in new ways. So in case you needed a reminder!
Diving into the contents of my mind, saves, and photo album this past week…
Got lost in the world of my ‘interiors’ folder on Pinterest this past week, gathering ideas for ways to continue to layer to our home. What do you think makes a home charming? To me, it’s the sourcing of pieces with soul, beautiful materiality, some whimsy, bringing the outdoors in and making the outdoors feel as cozy as the inside. So much to study in these images! On the subject of charming, a few home finds I’ve saved:
Always saving home finds here.
—Whenever I’m in home mode, I look to designers I admire for inspiration. One of my longtime favorites is Isabel López-Quesada. Love her work—always rich with layers, texture, and charm. I’m not a big IG scroller these days, but she has always been a very favorite to follow! Glimpsing into her world is magical.
—My new favorite Substack to read! Lauren is a breath of fresh air and so creative.
—A dreamy Italian menu for a summer dinner party (and taking advantage of some of the best things in season)
—New cute iPhone case!
—Another favorite designer and this jaw-dropping scene…
Be sure to enjoy the perfection that is tomatoes right now during their peak season. Love growing heirlooms in my garden! A little Caprese over the weekend was delightful. I also shared my favorite Sungold Pasta recipe — I grow Sungolds as well, this dish is heavenly. Let me know if you try!
Mentioned this on stories, but have been living in this top lately. It’s so fun! Working on saving a library of links and outfits in case you’re ever looking for something. Training myself to share here, LTK, and my blog first — and utilize IG as a recap tool a couple times a week. Feeling more and more compelled to put less energy into that space and immerse myself into the platforms that feel more meaningful, helpful to others, and fulfilling.
A photo from the weekend in Yountville. We grabbed lunch at R+D (had been craving their emerald kale starter salad… need to figure out how to make that dressing) and a glass of bubbles after at a winery close by. I shared my outfit links here. Wearing another variation of the yellow stripe!
Obsessed with this ‘Amore Italiano’ sandwich from a local market. It is heaven if you want to recreate at home or for the next time you head to a deli. I told you I’m pretending I’m in Italy as much as I can this season! Fresh Mozzarella, basil, roasted tomatoes, onion, oil and vinegar, on a sour baguette. Simplicity at its finest.
Cutest vintage chain mesh coin purse from Etsy. The brand is called Whiting and Davis and is a very enjoyable keyword to peruse!
The best $29 find ribbed lounge shorts from Zara Home. Obsessed.
We walked over to the park the other day and ran into some of Grace’s classmates. One little girl who is a bit older than G was on the monkey bars and it inspired Grace to learn. At first I thought it might be a tiny too soon for her… but 10 minutes later. This moment was so sweet. Everyone cheering her on and the determination in her face! She was so proud of herself. My little baby is getting so big. It’s in these moments of ‘firsts’ where I find myself feeling more inspired than ever. A pure joy to witness.
I hope you have a beautiful week everyone!
My best,
Ashley
