Inspired by this sitting room (by Veere Grenny, a favorite designer), I put a style storyboard together that evokes just as much warmth, depth, charm, and comfort. Tones I am leaning into this season: terracotta, brick red, cognac, sand. Grounding and versatile, perks on top of the pretty!
Here are more details on the space, in case you’re interested. Veere has a villa in Tangier, I feel like his love of Morocco shines through his work.
I had a feeling Rachel Comey would come through with earthy tones and was spot on. I love this flow-y set from her spring lookbook (it doesn’t appear to have come out yet, I am gonna keep an eye on her site).
Nostalgia perfume by Kismet Olfactive — this sounds lovely and fits right into the mood here. Top notes: Anise / Heart: Tonka Bean, Rose de mai / Base: Leather, Suede, Nagamotha
At this stage you may know that I have become a loyal Loro Piana fan. I have 3 of their bags that I’ve slowly collected over the years and stand by they are the most beautiful quality bags I own. I just bought this style in a nude colorway but was torn by the red. I had to note it in case you’re looking to invest in a forever bag in a fun but timeless color. It also comes in a pretty red wine hue. Such a beauty!
Another Rachel Comey covet. I’ll always love silver shoes (and am having a moment teaming metallic silver with shades of red so had to include).
Hunza G swimsuit. This ‘cocoa metallic’ color is so stunning—and I just learned while collecting a link that they’re made in Morocco—how fitting! P.S. Pregnant ladies—this is one of the only swim brands I liked to wear when I had a belly!
Lauren Manoogian wrap sweater. As always, her pieces are an investment but the quality is worth it. This style is so fun and perfect for cool spring or summer evenings. I did find something similar here for less! Love a wrap front, relaxed cardigan.
Lizzie Fortunato earrings. I love a tortoise x brass combination and thought these looked so fun. With a simple white tee, jeans, and simple brown sandals. Sometimes it’s really nice to let your earrings do the heavy lifting (speaking of which, they are very lightweight!).
Jenni Kayne braided sandals. So into cognac at the moment — love this new pair from Jenni’s spring latest (my code is AshleyK15 for 15% off in stories and online, whenever you shop with them).
SIR linen top (they have a skirt in this pattern, too). I loved the cut of this, I haven’t seen anything like it and feel like the pattern is just as unique. SIR does a really lovely job with summer linen, by the way…
Hope you enjoy your morning!
